Student Housing Programs

• Homestay is a wonderful option for international students who still like the support, encouragement and experience of living with an American family. The following costs include a fully furnished room, most meals, internet access and a safe learning environment. Homes are typically within a 45 minute bus commute. Homestays are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
   

  Homestay Costs

  • $125 Application Fee
  • $550 Placement fee that is nonrefundable after the student secures a visa. This placement fee includes finding you a host family, and ongoing homestay support to ensure you are having a positive homestay experience.
  • SPSCC offers two homestay options, these costs do not cover the full value of living with a host family:
    • $680 Per Month Full Hosting Homestay Cost: Breakfast and lunch, 7 days a week, of which the host provides food and the student prepares breakfast and lunch, and 5 dinners a week, of which the host prepares.
    • $625 Per Month Partial Hosting Homestay Cost: this option does not include food.

   

Apartments provide an opportunity to live with other SPSCC students within walking distance from campus. They are also close to bus lines, restaurants, and shopping. Each apartment has a shared living area, kitchen, dining room, bedrooms, and bathrooms. They also have a stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, washer/dryer, and dishwasher. Each apartment complex has a swimming pool, workout gym, and community center. Rental rates for apartments are affordable and competitive. Billing your rent and utilities to your student account once per quarter leaves more time to focus on academics. Students must be 18 to live in an apartment, and apartments are limited. We have 2-bedroom and 3 -bedroom units each with two bathrooms. There are two options: a student can rent a private bedroom, or share a room (for a lower rental rate). 

Apartment Costs

• $125 application fee. The application fee is non-refundable.
• $850 non-refundable deposit ($300 refundable).

By submitting and signing an application, I agree to the following statements: I certify that all the information given is complete and accurate. I agree to comply and follow the policies and procedures outlined in the SPSCC Apartment Lease and Handbook. I agree to pay all the fees associated with my participation in this program. I understand that housing is not required by SPSCC, and participation in this program is my voluntary choice. I understand that neither SPSCC nor any of its agents or guardians are insurers of my safety and the safety of my belongings, and that SPSCC does not provide special insurance for my protection. SPSCC and its employees will be held harmless from and against all claims, damages, actions liability and expense concerning injuries to me and my personal property that may arise. The terms hereof shall serve as a release and assumption of risk for my heirs, executor and administrators and for all members of my family. I certify that I am of lawful age and am competent to sign this statement of Informed Acknowledgment and Consent or if I am under 18, my parent/guardian is competent to sign on my behalf. I hereby voluntarily sign this document and knowingly assume the risks associated with this program, and knowingly release and hold harmless from liability SPSCC as above-described.

I HAVE FULLY INFORMED MYSELF OF THE CONTENTS OF THIS RELEASE AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT BY READING IT BEFORE I SIGNED IT. I CERTIFY UNDER PENALTY OF PERJURY UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON THAT THE FOREGOING IS TRUE AND CORRECT.
